Frequently Asked Questions
What does HEMA-free mean?
HEMA (Hydroxyethyl Methacrylate) is an ingredient commonly found in many gel nail products. Repeated skin exposure may increase the risk of developing an allergy in some individuals.
At Babes Den Nails, we specialize in 100% HEMA-free hard gel and gel polish because we believe healthy nail care begins with thoughtful product selection. Our goal is to provide beautiful, long-lasting manicures while prioritizing the health of your natural nails.
What is a Russian manicure?
A Russian manicure is a meticulous dry manicure that focuses on detailed cuticle refinement and precise nail preparation. This technique creates a clean, polished appearance while allowing for exceptional product retention and a flawless finish.
How long will my manicure last?
Most clients return every 3–4 weeks for maintenance, depending on nail growth, lifestyle, and the length of their nails.
Keeping up with scheduled maintenance helps preserve the strength, structure, and appearance of your manicure.
How should I care for my nails between appointments?
To keep your nails looking their best:
Apply cuticle oil daily.
Avoid using your nails as tools.
Wear gloves when cleaning or working with harsh chemicals.
Return for regular maintenance every 3–4 weeks.
Never pick or peel your gel, as this can damage your natural nails.
Can I add nail art to my appointment?
Absolutely.
We offer a variety of custom nail art, including:
French Tips
Chrome
Cat Eye
3D Art
Charms & Crystals
Custom Designs
Nail art is booked separately and priced according to the time and level of detail required.
Do you work over acrylic or products from another salon?
For the health and integrity of your nails, we do not perform fills over another technician’s work.
If you are arriving with existing acrylic, hard gel, Gel-X, or another enhancement, please book the appropriate removal or new client service so we can begin with a clean foundation.
I have sensitive skin. Can I still book?
Many clients choose Babes Den Nails because we specialize in 100% HEMA-free products. While no nail product can be guaranteed to be suitable for everyone, we carefully select products with nail health in mind. If you have known allergies or sensitivities, please let us know before your appointment so we can discuss the best options for you.
What if I break a nail?
We understand accidents happen.
Individual nail repairs are available for $20 per nail and must be scheduled in advance to allow enough appointment time.
If multiple nails are damaged, a fill or new set may be recommended to maintain the overall structure and longevity of your manicure.
