For years, I had been getting my nails done at nail salons that used acrylic products. I always had issues with getting exactly what I wanted and the acrylic always made my nails so brittle. Why did I keep returning? Well, it was a quick way to get my hands to look decent, even though it was not always the best service. As time went on, not once in my nail dreams did I think of how acrylic was toxic to my skin and nails. It wasn’t until I attended nail school that I realized a long-term wear of acrylic could be bad for my nails and skin. Genetically, I have Dyshidrotic eczema and for anyone who has eczema, you know how dry and painful it can be, so to add nails that contain chemical products that irritate your skin more, know that it can disappointing to feel that your are left out of the beauty side of nail care.

When I was in school I soon found out that acrylic irritated my skin condition. It was painful, embarrassing, and I felt ashamed that I was a student and could not work with acrylic products. I already had a love for builder gel but found out that most builder gels also contained HEMA. I thought my nail career was over.

I was so passionate about nails and making others feel beautiful, also the fact that I could not wear nails for a period of time, I wanted others to be able to have pretty hands, even if I could not have that. After learning from school and doing my own research on HEMA, I found out that not all nail products contained this. I ventured away from all acrylic products and found HEMA-FREE products. This was exciting to be cleared of any reactions on my skin!

Not only am I living proof that the products Babes Den of Fresno uses are reaction free but the community we serve is reaction free when wearing nails that are done here. We are the hidden gem of Fresno! I’d love to say we are like the Whole Foods of nail services.
